What Happened to Uyanda on Day 48 of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 ‘Umlilo’ in 2025?
Uyanda had an emotional breakdown that stunned Big Brother Mzansi viewers and fans on Day 48 of Season 5 after the Week 7 Saturday night party.

Saturday night party
The Saturday night party is a double-edged celebration that lifts the housemates’ spirits with pulsating music and free-flowing Chillers Punch – enabling the housemates to relax and let loose before the live eviction show that happens the following day on Sunday.
The Week 7 Saturday night was not any different as the housemates had fun and drank a couple of Chillers Punch bottles as they hit the dance floor.
However, Uyanda’s night was about to spiral unexpectedly as he’s now known to lose it every time he sips MacG’s Chillers Punch.
Uyanda’s emotional breakdown
The teacher, whose real name is Uyanda Hlangabezo, had earlier on opened up to his fellow housemates that the month held a lot of painful memories including the anniversary of his father’s passing.
Uyanda, who’s also known as the Honey Badger to his big fanbase, subtly noted by some viewers throughout Week 7, hinted at unresolved grief. So as the other housemates hit the dance floor during the Week 7 Saturday night party, Uyanda sought solace in Chillers Punch, hoping to “shake off the stress.”
The incident with Jojo
Swiss and Beekay repeatedly refilled Uyanda’s drink, unintentionally fueling the Honey Badger’s meltdown. As the alcohol took hold, Uyanda’s composure broke apart.
Uyanda then began shouting, using expletives, and acting erratically, drawing concern from the other housemates. This is when a concerned Jojo also intervened to make sure that Uyanda was okay, but little did she know that it was about to even get worse.
What happened next was a tense confrontation – with Uyanda specifically targeting and uncontrollably shouting in Jojo’s face. The situation was only diffused when Tyrone stepped in and quickly escorted Jojo away – with Abobo joining in later to take Jojo to safety.
Big Brother intervenes
At this point, Biggie had had enough as we assume he had obviously watched everything that had happened.
Big Brother then summoned the troubled Uyanda to the Diary Room – bringing an end to the chaos and madness.
While the details of Biggie and Uyanda’s conversation remain unknown, Biggie surely saved the day as things could have gotten worse and maybe even led to Uyanda being disqualified from the house.
